September 9-September 10

The library has been a very busy place, with students visiting the library for the first time this year. I was very pleased to see all of their smiling faces and their anxious behavior to see what I would be sharing.

32 beautiful little JK/SK souls coming to the library for "Story-time"
I shared the book called, "Where is Clifford?" - a flip and fold book. The children were listening and looking intensely at the illustrations, trying to find Clifford. To hear laughter and awaken the children's imaginations and interest in reading was so rewarding. The moment that really made my heart shine was when one little girl was so intent on being able to read that she was 'reading' her book upside down before she left the library.

The intermediate classes were given a lesson on "Digital Citizenship." Reading different scenarios involving the use of technology and social media, the students had to decide if the action described was appropriate or inappropriate. This was a great way to engage the students with important information that they will use daily.
