September, 2013--First Week!

I plan on sharing an amazing book with the children called, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore.
"The story began as a tribute to the late Bill Morris, the soft-spoken, dry-witted pioneer of library promotions. Then hurricane Katrina devasted Mr. Joyce's home state and interrupted progress on the books. The author saw firsthand the curative power of stories as he visited displaced children reading donated books in the shelters.

But the power of story will save the day" (taken from the book cover).

Welcome back!

Summer passed by very quickly and the weather was simply perfect. I hope everyone had an enjoyable time. It is my mission again this year to encourage all students to become life-long readers. With my read aloud choices, book trailers and occasional games it is my hope that everyone will look forward to their weekly visit to the library. Let’s begin …

“The universe is not made of atoms. It’s made of tiny stories.” (author unknown).
